The Dumbing of America

It amazes me that so many people in this country think that the COVID-19 pandemic is a left-wing, or right-wing conspiracy. Or, that it’s a conspiracy at all. What has happened to the people in this country? Did they get dumb overnight, or has it been a slow progression that I am just now becoming aware of?

First, before we get into the COVID issue, and the vaccine versus no vaccine fight, I would like to point out an article I read this morning. I’m not sure how to take it. I’m not even sure I can process the information in it. Here, read it for yourself, and then, maybe, you can enlighten me.

Am I right in thinking that there are people in this country who think we, America, is being overrun with illegal immigrants? Don’t they realize that every White man in this country is here illegally? The Native Americans didn’t invite the Europeans here. Nor did they invite the Black man here. The White man came here, and forced their will upon those civilizations that had been here for thousands of years, and implemented a program of genocide that ensured the White man would stay. Then, the White man forced the Black man to come here against their will.

No, there’s plenty wrong with the genocide that took place in this country so that we, as in all of us, could live here freely. That we might call this home, and then tell everyone else that they are not allowed here.

Our problems started generations ago, and continue to this day. If you really think about it, our problems are not with the hordes flooding into this country from unsecured borders, but with our immigration policy in general. And, that my folks is a problem that has been created by both Republicans and Democrats.

I might not have been too clear on what I wanted to say about the dumbing of America, but I am going to be clear about this: until you’ve educated yourself on all sides of the issue, you should be careful of what you say, and how you say it. One point of view, whether it be right-wing or left-wing drivel, should be compared and contrasted against another point of view, and supported with fact, before you make up your mind, or you attempt to force that information down someone else’s throat.

To think that this pandemic that we have been living with is a government conspiracy is so outlandish that I have trouble even thinking that someone might believe it. Or, that a vaccine is a government ploy to control the population. If that is the case, then every government in every nation in the world has gotten together in an effort to control all of humanity. Not so different from the efforts of the religious fanatics of a thousand years ago (and even today), is it?

Before you start yelling to high-heaven, read the following articles from places around the world (there are many others if you care to search), places that may or may not be our friends:

Now, tell me again how this pandemic, and everything surrounding it is a government conspiracy that is being controlled from our nation’s capitol. If you believe it is, then you also must believe that Russia and the United States are kissing cousins, and are in the process of swapping spit out behind the barn. That we are best of buddies, and then some.

Something else I’d like to point out is the controversy surrounding the COVID vaccine. Am I a fan of injecting my body with a manufactured substance that may, or may not have adverse affects. No, I am not. Nor am I a fan of the possibility of spending days on end struggling with an illness.

Allow me to point out something. In order to attend any public school in this nation a child must be vaccinated with several different vaccines. These are intended to keep the student, and everyone else they go to school with safe. There’s polio, tetanus, diphtheria, measles, mumps,  rubella, chickenpox, pertussis, and a few others. Not every state has the same mandates, but they all have them.

So, is the COVID vaccine necessary? I don’t know. I got it, not out of concern for my own safety, but for concern for my friends, and family, especially my children. I don’t want them seeing their father lying in a hospital bed, and not being able to help him. They went that route once. They don’t need to go it again. Am I going to get that ill if I contract COVID? I don’t know, but I’m not willing to take the chance, and put my loved ones through something that might be prevented.

We have all been reading about the deaths associated with COVID. Are those numbers correct? Are they bloated beyond belief? Are they under-reported? Once again, I don’t know. I do know, that every nation in the world is reporting deaths associated with this virus. How accurate are the numbers? Take a look at this and decide for yourself.

And for those of you who are having difficulty finding the link to the coronavirus statistics, I’ll make it easy for you.

As you can see, the United States is reporting about 1,000 deaths a day from this “conspiracy” that the government is shoving down our throats. In April of last year I asked what an acceptable number of deaths from this virus would be:

I guess we now have our answer.

Let me sum all this up by asking: “Has America gotten dumber as I’ve gotten older?” I think so. And, we’re supposed to be an educated society. But, I can’t blame our educational system. The teachers are doing the best they can. It’s the students who are at fault. They want to be spoon-fed information, and are too damned lazy to educate themselves.

I’ve said enough.

Good night, Mrs. Jackson, wherever you are.
